Tiger Woods recently announced that he will be taking a break from golf due to his recent back surgery in October. This surgery marks the seventh procedure on his back and the third major operation in the past two years, following surgeries on his Achilles and ankle.
Despite winning the Masters in 2019, ending an 11-year Major drought, Woods has been struggling with injuries. While he managed to host his annual Hero World Challenge golf tournament in the Bahamas, he acknowledged that his return to competitive play will be a lengthy process.
Although he humorously mentioned playing in numerous events, Woods emphasized the importance of focusing on his recovery before considering his future schedule and commitments. He mentioned that he had just received clearance to resume chipping and putting after six weeks, indicating a slow but steady progress in his rehabilitation.
One of Woods’ main motivations is to break the PGA record for the most tournament wins, currently tied at 82 with Sam Snead. Notah Begay III, a close friend of Woods, highlighted that walking the course poses a significant challenge for Woods post-surgery.
As Woods continues his recovery journey, his fans eagerly await his return to the fairways, hopeful for more remarkable performances from the golfing legend.
