Police are on the lookout for a group of masked young individuals who wielded machetes in the vicinity of Winter Wonderland in Nottingham. According to Nottinghamshire Police, four youths, two of whom were armed with knives, reportedly confronted another group near the Council House in Old Market Square. Law enforcement officers responded to the incident following a call at 6:15 pm on Sunday.

Nottinghamshire Police confirmed that there were no injuries and although several individuals were searched, the suspects had already fled the area. The authorities have released CCTV footage seeking assistance from the public in identifying the culprits.

Chief Superintendent Nick Waldram condemned the incident, emphasizing that such unacceptable behavior has no place in the city. He vowed to exhaust all efforts to apprehend the perpetrators and ensure they face legal consequences. Waldram stressed the significance of maintaining safety, particularly in areas where families and children frequent, urging anyone with relevant information to come forward.

In a statement reported by Nottinghamshire Live, Chf Sup Waldram highlighted ongoing efforts to eliminate weapons from the streets and educate young people on the risks associated with carrying such arms. He expressed concern over the negative impact such incidents have on the city’s reputation and underscored the importance of the police force’s work in addressing these threats.
