Despite recent floods in Las Vegas, the upcoming Formula 1 event is expected to proceed smoothly without weather disruptions. Heavy rain on Tuesday caused temporary street flooding, as seen in social media posts of standing water on parts of the race circuit.

Following the rain, the standing water largely evaporated by Wednesday morning. While some water remained near the Linq Hotel, where dramatic videos were filmed, the overall water level had decreased significantly.

Although approached for comment, an F1 spokesperson did not express concerns about the weather affecting the weekend’s track activities. Showers returned on Wednesday afternoon but did not create any significant standing water on the circuit.

The forecast indicates more rain on Thursday evening and Friday morning, with improving conditions expected as the weekend progresses towards a dry race on Saturday night. Despite decreased tourism, ticket prices for the Las Vegas Grand Prix have been reduced significantly, leading to a surge in ticket sales for the event.

Currently, Lando Norris leads the championship with a considerable advantage over Oscar Piastri and is favored to win. Max Verstappen remains in contention mathematically but faces a significant points gap. The Las Vegas race will be followed by the Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix.
