“Embrace the Festive Spirit: Early Christmas Decorations for Joy and Cheer”

Published on

This year, I’ve chosen to display my Christmas decorations earlier than usual. Sometimes when individuals do this and share it on social media, without any specific reason, they can face criticism from others, being labeled as ‘crazy’ or told to ‘get a grip.’ However, in the realm of social media, it’s common knowledge that you can’t please everyone, so it’s best to prioritize your own happiness.

The reason behind my early decorating decision this year is that my birthday falls six days before Christmas, and my partner’s birthday follows three days after mine. Consequently, we often find ourselves away from home during the Christmas lead-up.

By setting up our decorations at the beginning of December, we realized we had only a brief moment to savor them. Given their beauty, it felt like a waste not to enjoy them for a longer period.

Moreover, amidst the current stream of negative news worldwide, I strongly believe that if something as simple as Christmas decorations can bring immense joy, why delay putting them up?!

Hanging up decorations does no harm and does not offend anyone (and if it does, that’s on them!), so I fail to see any negative consequences.

Additionally, many of us spend significant time at home, making it a straightforward and cost-free way to add cheer to your day (assuming you already possess a tree and decorations).

Critics may jest all they want. Decorating is an entertaining and pleasurable activity on its own, and admiring them while sipping mulled wine or hot chocolate enhances the experience.

You can crank up the Christmas tunes, dance around your living room, and simply unwind.

As Christmas adverts flood screens and markets brim with festive spirit nationwide, the approach of December 25 becomes inevitable. So, why not embrace the festive spirit rather than resist it?

Unpacking decorations accumulated over the years evokes a warm and nostalgic feeling, especially ornaments with sentimental value to you and your family.

We unpacked baubles from past vacations, handmade ones from friends, and, of course, the tree wouldn’t be complete without some Jellycat decorations.

At a festive makers market, we even purchased a fresh wreath for our door, becoming the first house on our street to display one – setting a trend!

So, if you’re feeling like a modern-day Scrooge and need a mood boost, don’t hesitate to bring out the holly.

Crank up the tunes from Michael Buble, Mariah Carey, and Kelly Clarkson, and let the Christmas spirit uplift you. I assure you, you won’t regret it!
