Aoife Bird, a resident of Longwood, Meath, originally from Co Waterford, tragically succumbed to a sudden illness on Wednesday, following the death of her daughter, Ailbhe, the day before.

A notice on RIP.ie announced the sad news, stating that Aoife and baby Ailbhe passed away from a sudden illness, surrounded by their grieving family at the Regional Hospital Mullingar. The announcement expressed deep sorrow from her husband Jim, her son Daithí, her parents, siblings, extended family members, and numerous friends and colleagues at Ashbourne Community School, where Aoife taught Spanish, Business, and SEN.
