If your payment is due on Thursday, Christmas Day, or Boxing Day, you can anticipate receiving it earlier than expected on Christmas Eve, as DWP payments are not processed on bank holidays.

In case of an early payment, budgeting until the next scheduled payment date is advisable. For instance, if your next payment is due on Thursday, January 1, it is likely to be issued on Wednesday, December 31.

If there are any delays in receiving your benefit payment, contacting the appropriate office online, by phone, or visiting your local JobCentre upon reopening is recommended.

Keep in mind that helplines will be closed on bank holidays, so reaching out will only be possible on the next working day.

Most benefits are distributed by the DWP, while HMRC handles Tax Credits and Child Benefit. Child Benefit payments, typically made on Mondays and Tuesdays, should remain unaffected by Christmas bank holidays.
