“Forensic Experts Investigate Murdered Woman’s Boat”

Published on

Forensic experts are examining a boat where 21-year-old Corinna Baker was allegedly murdered, following reports that the vessel was doused in petrol.

Corinna’s lifeless body was discovered on the boat, which was moored at a former boat-building yard in the coastal town of Cardigan, Wales. The police have taken the white boat for investigation, amidst local claims that it had been soaked in fuel.

Residents mentioned that Corinna was last spotted on Thursday night before heading to the boat yard, where she was found on Saturday. Authorities have arrested a 29-year-old man on suspicion of murder, who is currently in custody.

Described as fun-loving, Corinna went onto the boat after leaving her home for the evening. A local resident stated, “The police have taken it away. It has been here for a few years and was owned by a local family. We heard it was doused with petrol before removal. There have been rumors of various activities, but it is truly tragic.”

A post-mortem examination is scheduled, with suspicions of head injuries on Corinna. Her family expressed deep sorrow, stating, “We as a family are devastated by the loss of our beloved Corinna.

“She was cherished, and her absence will be deeply felt by the entire family and everyone fortunate enough to have known her. We urge anyone with even the smallest piece of information to come forward. We request that our privacy be respected during this time of mourning.”

Corinna’s sister, Caitlyn, paid tribute, saying, “Heaven is welcoming the most beautiful, funny, stubborn angel.” Authorities are seeking information from individuals who were near Netpool Boat Yard on Thursday night and might have witnessed any suspicious activity.

A witness reported that the boat was covered with black tarpaulin before being taken away by the police for examination. Surrounding the boatyard site are former fishermen’s cottages that closed over 20 years ago, with some boats still being inhabited.

The boatyard is popular among anglers and visitors to the town of Cardigan, which has a population of around 4,000 residents at the mouth of the River Teifi. Local residents expressed shock and sadness over the tragic incident, especially since Corinna’s family operates a local pub in the close-knit community.

One nearby resident commented, “She was such a sweet girl, truly. Our hearts go out to her family.” Another added, “That poor family must be devastated. She was a lovely, young sweetheart.”

Detective Superintendent Wayne Bevan expressed condolences, saying, “Our thoughts are with Corinna’s family during this understandably tragic time.” We have dedicated officers providing support to the family and ask for their privacy to be respected.

“I encourage anyone with information to come forward and assist in our ongoing investigation.” Authorities are particularly interested in speaking
