Revolut Mobile, a new service launched by finance and tech firm Revolut, is set to shake up the UK’s mobile network market with its competitive pricing and attractive perks. Early adopters can now enjoy unlimited 5G data, calls, and texts for just £12.50 per month, significantly undercutting similar packages offered by established UK networks like EE and Vodafone, which charge £25 monthly.
One standout feature of the Revolut Mobile service is the inclusion of 20GB of roaming data across the EU and the United States at no extra cost, making it a compelling option for frequent travelers. Users can stay connected in popular cities such as Paris, Berlin, New York, and Los Angeles without worrying about additional charges, a benefit not commonly offered by other UK networks, especially for US travel.
In addition to the robust data and call offerings, Revolut Mobile provides global messaging capabilities through its Messaging Pass, allowing customers in over 80 countries to use low-bandwidth data for messaging on platforms like WhatsApp. Users can also easily manage multiple phone numbers on a single plan, catering to their work, personal, and travel communication needs. Furthermore, each subscription includes a complimentary NordVPN membership for enhanced online security and privacy.
The service is currently being phased in for customers on the waitlist, with full public availability expected by January 2026. While Revolut’s entry into the mobile network arena represents a bold move for the company, industry experts caution that success is not guaranteed. Paolo Pescatore, an analyst, emphasized the importance of strong execution in combining banking and mobile services, highlighting the competitive nature of the MVNO market.
Despite the challenges ahead, Revolut remains optimistic about its prospects against established players like EE, Vodafone, and O2. Hadi Nasrallah, General Manager of Telco at Revolut, expressed confidence in the service’s ability to disrupt the industry by offering a unique and user-centric alternative.
Nasrallah stated, “Revolut Mobile is not just another mobile service; it is a truly innovative alternative aimed at revolutionizing the industry. Our goal is to deliver exceptional service at a competitive price, supported by a seamless user experience. By introducing innovative features like multiple numbers and global messaging, we are eliminating hidden fees and unnecessary complexities.”
Revolut’s disruptive approach and focus on user experience are poised to challenge the status quo in the UK mobile network market, setting the stage for potential industry transformation.
