Motorists are encountering significant disruptions this morning on a busy motorway due to an accident where a vehicle has overturned. All traffic on the M60 has been halted following the incident near J25 A560 Crookilley Way on the M60 clockwise on Tuesday, November 18.
According to the traffic monitoring system Inrix, there is a temporary hold on all traffic and stationary vehicles due to an overturned vehicle on the M60 clockwise after J25 A560 Crookilley Way in Brinnington. A National Highways map indicates heavy congestion from Junction 8 to 11, with traffic at a standstill during rush hour.
Although all lanes have reopened after the incident earlier in the morning, delays of approximately 30 minutes persist. National Highways confirmed that all lanes are now open between Bredbury J26 and J27 on the M60 clockwise following a multi-vehicle collision, urging travelers to allow extra time due to the remaining delays.
A multiple-vehicle crash occurred just before 7.05 am, leading to traffic being held in the area. Inrix reports that the M60 clockwise is currently blocked with significant delays caused by an overturned vehicle. Emergency services are on-site following a “multi-vehicle collision,” as confirmed by National Highways north-west, with Google Maps reporting over an hour of delay in the area.
National Highways has reported three miles of congestion resulting from the multi-vehicle collision, including around three miles of congestion behind J25 where the incident occurred. Traffic monitoring company Inrix notes that motorists are facing congestion back to J23 (Ashton-under-Lyne) due to the ongoing situation. All traffic is still temporarily held.
