LG TV owners are in for a treat just in time for the holiday season, as LG has announced a significant upgrade to its LG Channels platform. This update brings a host of new features and additional free content to households, including exclusive shows from Sky.

The recent update, which has started rolling out, enables users with select LG screens to access Sky Sports Stories, Sky Sports Vault, and Sky Sports Classics without the need for a subscription. LG has also introduced the Sky News channel to its free lineup, offering a wider range of content.

In addition to these additions, the update includes new channels like LG1 Christmas for festive programming, the FIFA+ Women Channel for soccer enthusiasts, and the DP World Tour for golf fans. These channels are part of LG’s FAST (Free Ad-Supported Television) services, meaning viewers will encounter advertisements during their viewing experience.

Alongside the new channels, the upgrade brings enhancements such as personalized content recommendations and a revamped user interface aimed at simplifying content discovery. A new “Quick Access” feature allows users to access channel information, the TV guide, favorites, and popular content instantly by pressing the “OK” button on the LG Magic Remote while watching a program.
