Apple has had a bustling week introducing a range of new products, including the iPhone 17e, upgraded iPad Air, and new MacBook Pro models featuring the latest M5 processors. The company has now unveiled the much-anticipated MacBook Neo, offering a more affordable option for consumers.
The MacBook Neo boasts a colorful design, impressive performance, and a high-resolution 13-inch screen, all priced at just £599. This makes it the first Mac available for under £600, a significant £500 less than the latest MacBook Air released this week.
Powered by Apple’s A18 Pro-series smartphone processor, the MacBook Neo may not match the speed of M-powered PCs but is fully capable of meeting everyday digital demands. Running on macOS, it provides access to popular applications such as Microsoft Word, Pages, and iMovie.
With over 15 hours of battery life, the MacBook Neo is highly efficient. It comes equipped with two USB-C ports, although lacking MagSafe charging. Additional features include a 1080p FaceTime HD camera, Touch ID fingerprint scanner, dual side-firing speakers supporting Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos, a Magic Keyboard, and Multi-Touch trackpad.
Available in Silver, Indigo, Blush, and Citrus color options, the MacBook Neo is currently open for pre-orders and will hit stores next week. Apple’s senior vice president of Hardware Engineering, John Ternus, expressed excitement about the product, highlighting its affordability, durable design, high-quality display, Apple silicon performance, extended battery life, and other premium features unique to Apple’s laptops.
