A young boy from Calgary who was rescued from a near-drowning incident in a river in British Columbia is currently undergoing treatment in a hospital, with reports indicating serious lung damage. On August 3, nine-year-old Paul-Angelo Warren was swimming and diving in the Shuswap River near Enderby when he failed to resurface after diving underwater. Maria Warren, his mother, shared that bystanders at the beach acted swiftly, pulling him out of the water shortly after he went missing. According to an official statement from the RCMP, the boy was trapped against fallen debris by the river’s strong current before being rescued and administered CPR on the shore. Authorities estimate that he may have been submerged for up to 10 minutes. Paul-Angelo is currently receiving care at Vancouver Children’s Hospital, surrounded by his family. In an interview on Tuesday, Maria expressed her unwavering presence by his side, emphasizing her desire for him to wake up to the comfort of her voice and presence.
