In Co Meath, Ireland, a tragic incident occurred at the Tayto factory resulting in the death of a man in his 60s.
The individual, who was working for an independent potato supplier, was involved in the incident earlier today at the Kilbrew site in Ashbourne, Co Meath, according to Tayto. Authorities, including Gardai and emergency services, swiftly responded to the location.
Tayto has released a statement expressing their shock and sadness and their commitment to cooperating with investigations related to the unfortunate event. The family of the deceased has been notified.
A spokesperson for Tayto Snacks Ltd. stated, “We are deeply saddened by the fatal incident involving an employee of an independent potato supplier at our Ashbourne, Co. Meath site today. We are working closely with authorities, including the Health & Safety Authority, to support ongoing inquiries.”
“Ensuring the safety and well-being of all individuals on our premises is our top priority, and we are dedicated to assisting in any investigations regarding today’s tragic occurrence,” the company added.

John O’Connor, the Managing Director, expressed his devastation over the incident and extended condolences to those affected by the loss of life.
According to a statement from a garda spokesman to DublinLive, emergency services responded to a fatal workplace accident in Ashbourne, Co. Meath, today where a man in his 60s was pronounced dead at the scene. The body has been taken for a post-mortem examination at Our Lady’s Hospital Navan, and the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) will conduct an investigation.
