The Rise dominated the second half, scoring four goals, with Anna Bout, Maithe Lopez, and Camila Reyes adding to the tally. Elise Bell managed to score a consolation goal for the Rapid in the 82nd minute.
Following this victory, the Rise climbed to fourth place in the league standings, surpassing the Halifax Tide by one point. The team now has seven wins, one draw, and nine losses, totaling 22 points. Meanwhile, the Ottawa Rapid still leads the league with 33 points, holding a three-point lead over the Montreal Roses, with a record of 10 wins, four losses, and three draws.
In terms of gameplay statistics, the Rise had a slight advantage in possession at 53% compared to the Rapid’s 47%. They also outshot the hosts 17-8, with 11 shots on target. Vancouver won the corner kicks battle, taking four out of the seven corners. Both teams received two yellow cards during the match.
Looking ahead, the Rise will face the Calgary Wild on Saturday, August 29, while the Rapid will visit AFC Toronto on Sunday, August 30.
