Recent data from UK regulator Ofcom reveals varying performance among major broadband providers in the country. The latest report highlights the best and worst performers in terms of customer complaints. Notably, TalkTalk, Vodafone, and EE ranked below the national average, attracting the highest number of complaints.
Ofcom’s update stated, “EE, TalkTalk, and Vodafone received the highest number of broadband complaints.” While EE’s complaint figures remained consistent with the previous quarter, both TalkTalk and Vodafone experienced an increase in complaints.
On the contrary, Plusnet emerged as the best performer with the lowest number of complaints. Despite being under the same ownership as EE, Plusnet showcased significantly better complaint handling.
Ofcom further confirmed, “Plusnet received the fewest complaints among broadband providers.” Following Plusnet, Sky ranked second with minimal reported issues, while Virgin Media improved its standing to become the third-best in terms of complaint resolution.
The comprehensive list of best and worst performers includes:
– PLUSNET: 4 complaints per 100,000
– SKY: 6 complaints per 100,000
– VIRGIN MEDIA: 7 complaints per 100,000
– BT: 11 complaints per 100,000
– VODAFONE: 10 complaints per 100,000
– EE: 10 complaints per 100,000
– TALKTALK: 10 complaints per 100,000
Beyond broadband services, Ofcom also monitors complaints in other categories such as landline and pay-TV services. Utility Warehouse excelled in landline services with only 1 complaint per 100,000, while Sky, Virgin Media, and Vodafone also demonstrated strong performance in this area.
However, TalkTalk ranked lowest in landline complaints, further reinforcing its weaker customer satisfaction ratings. On a positive note, TalkTalk outperformed its competitors in TV service complaints.
The TV service winners and losers are as follows:
– TALKTALK: 2 complaints per 100,000
