Two women, Sarah Faber, 37, and Amy Billotte, 51, are facing a total of over 900 charges after a teenage boy was allegedly starved and abused, resulting in him weighing only 5st 9lbs. The charges against them include false imprisonment, aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of children, involuntary servitude, reckless endangerment, terroristic threats, and unlawful restraint of a minor.

The authorities were alerted by school officials on Sept 8 about the malnourished and dehydrated condition of the teenager. He had reportedly lost over 20lbs since the previous school year. The boy was then taken to UPMC Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, where signs of malnutrition and injuries were found.

According to reports, the teenager disclosed to investigators that he was confined to his bedroom all day, even during the summer. The boy was allegedly monitored through cameras connected to a phone app and had restrictions like an alarm on his bedroom floor and screws on the windows to prevent them from opening further.

It was reported that the teen was subjected to strenuous exercises, forced to stand for long hours, and even duct-taped to the bedroom floor at night. Additionally, he claimed he was not provided with a mattress or proper clothing for sleeping and had been locked in the basement as a form of punishment.

The criminal complaint revealed that the women used scare tactics involving clowns and threatened to harm the boy with cat insulin. The police chief described the boy’s room as bare, with no essential items. The victim is said to face a challenging road to recovery, with the case being described as tragic and heart-breaking.

A neighbor mentioned witnessing the teen taking out the trash in a diaper during cold weather, expressing shock at the situation. Preliminary hearings for the case are scheduled for early January.
