Former President Donald Trump strongly criticized President Joe Biden’s administration and condemned the recent shooting of two guards at the White House as a despicable act. Trump denounced Biden as the “worst president in our country’s history” for allegedly permitting the entry of “20 million unknown and unvetted foreigners.”
Speaking to the nation about the tragic incident that occurred on November 26th, where two guards were shot while on duty, Trump emphasized that the attack was driven by evil, hatred, and terrorism, describing it as a crime against the nation. He expressed sympathy for the injured guards and their families while also expressing anger towards the perpetrator.
Identifying the suspect as an Afghan national named Rahmanullah Lakanwal, Trump criticized the Biden administration for allowing his entry into the country without proper vetting. He vowed to ensure that the individual responsible for the atrocity faces severe consequences.
Reports revealed that Lakanwal had served in the Afghan Army and had a history of working with US Special Forces in Afghanistan before relocating to the US. A relative of the suspect expressed disbelief over his involvement in the shooting, citing their shared experiences in Afghanistan.
In response to the situation, Trump announced the deployment of an additional 500 soldiers to enhance security in the capital city and reiterated his commitment to bringing the perpetrator to justice.
Following Trump’s remarks, an Afghan advocacy group expressed sadness over the incident and urged against using the attack to target or harm Afghan refugees resettled in America.
