A mother has been discharged from the hospital following an assault at her residence where her 17-year-old daughter was fatally injured.

The tragic incident occurred in Cefn Fforest, South Wales, resulting in the death of Lainie Williams and severe injuries to her mother, Rhian Stephens, 38. Authorities responded to a call reporting the injuries at Wheatley Place around 7:15 am.

The Gwent Police have pressed charges against 18-year-old Cameron Cheng from Newbridge for murder and attempted murder, along with possessing a bladed weapon in a public area. Cheng, a British national, has been remanded for a court appearance in Newport.
