Teen’s Bullying Ordeal Sparks Threats of Fines

Published on

The father of a teenager who alleges he was bullied out of school is now claiming he is facing threats of fines because his son has been absent from classes. Wojciech Krysinski, 13, was advised by a medical professional that the school environment posed a significant threat to his mental well-being and recommended seeking alternative education. This guidance came after reports of hate crimes and racial harassment incidents targeting Wojciech at Maricourt Catholic High School in Maghull.

Karol Krysinski, Wojciech’s father, raised concerns after discovering distressing videos on his son’s phone showing him being subjected to abuse, threats, and blackmail. Merseyside Police is investigating the reported hate crime and assault incidents involving a student at the school. Maricourt High School emphasized its commitment to student safety and welfare, stating that any allegations of misconduct are taken seriously and violence is not tolerated.

Following an incident at the school resulting in Wojciech being hospitalized with a facial injury, his GP advised that the current school environment posed a serious risk to his mental health. The family is in the process of transferring him to another school. Sefton Council has allegedly threatened the family with fines for Wojciech’s absence, despite the doctor’s recommendation for alternative schooling.

The school’s headteacher, Tracy Hatton, expressed confidence in the school as a safe and respectful place for students, welcoming a police investigation into the allegations. Sefton Council clarified that standard attendance procedures require a welfare check for extended absences, and absence may not be authorized if the child is deemed fit and well.

Mrs. Hatton addressed the allegations, reaffirming the school’s commitment to providing a supportive learning environment. Merseyside Police encourages anyone with information to come forward regarding the incidents involving Wojciech, and provides contact details for reporting. Additionally, resources for reporting hate crimes anonymously are highlighted for those who may prefer not to involve the police directly.
