A 13-year-old girl allegedly murdered her mother in St. Petersburg, Russia, after her phone was taken away due to excessive social media use. The teenager reportedly confessed to attacking her mother with a knife following arguments about her online activities. Law enforcement sources indicate that the girl staged the crime similarly to scenarios from online games she played.

The girl accused her deceased mother of being controlling and abusive, restricting her social life and closely monitoring her. Authorities mentioned that the teenager’s social media content included videos related to the game Roblox. Reports suggest that the girl simulated her mother’s murder and attempted to cover it up.

Despite the serious nature of the incident, the child, who is currently hospitalized, cannot be prosecuted due to being underage in Russia. The Russian Investigative Committee has initiated a murder investigation into the case. The girl was living with her mother following her parents’ separation.
