“Prison Officer Guilty of Romantic Misconduct and Smuggling”

Published on

A prison officer named Isabelle Dale, known for having romantic relationships with two inmates, was found guilty of misconduct in a public office and conspiracy to convey prohibited items into the prison. Dale, who started working at HMP Coldingley in Surrey at a young age, engaged in intimate relationships with two inmates, leading to her arrest.

One of the inmates, Shahid Sharif, known as ‘Sneaks,’ was involved in a romantic relationship with Dale. Sharif, serving time for armed robbery, referred to Dale as ‘Miss Sneaky.’ Dale’s affection for Sharif was evident as she had his nickname tattooed on her neck and a picture of them together displayed above her bed.

The relationship between Dale and Sharif started when they were both at HMP Coldingley. Despite Sharif being transferred to another prison, their connection continued. Dale visited Sharif at his new prison, exchanged flirty messages, and even sent money to his prison account. Their involvement was uncovered during an investigation, leading to Dale’s arrest.

In addition to the romantic affair, there was a plan to smuggle drugs into the prison. The scheme involved impregnating envelopes with a liquid narcotic, with Dale responsible for posting them to the jail once dried. Dale was convinced that she and Sharif would marry, going to great lengths to maintain their relationship.

Furthermore, it was revealed that Dale was also involved in a physical relationship with another inmate named Connor Money. Despite denying any intimate involvement, evidence suggested otherwise, including explicit messages exchanged between Dale and Money. The investigation uncovered Dale’s communication with multiple inmates and their relatives using illicit mobile phones.

During the trial, Dale denied the allegations of sexual relationships with the inmates and claimed ignorance of the illegality of inmates possessing phones. She maintained that her interactions were innocuous, despite evidence suggesting otherwise. The case shed light on the complexities of relationships between prison staff and inmates, emphasizing the need for strict regulations and oversight within correctional facilities.
