The late billionaire Jeffrey Epstein received advice from a PR firm to avoid associating with Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson in order to improve his tarnished reputation. The firm, Osborne & Partners LLP, recommended highlighting Epstein’s philanthropic activities and scientific support while steering clear of the royal couple to enhance his public image. The strategy aimed to distance Epstein from negative media coverage linking him to the Prince Andrew/Sarah Ferguson duo, suggesting that any association with them would hinder his reputation restoration efforts.
The advice also addressed the UK media’s focus on Prince Andrew, cautioning Epstein against being connected to him to prevent further damage to his image. The document highlighted the need to avoid facilitating Prince Andrew’s lifestyle or aiding in his public image issues, emphasizing that doing so would only serve the media’s agenda to target Epstein through his association with the royal couple.
Furthermore, the plan outlined steps to clean up Epstein’s online presence by addressing negative search results related to his criminal charges and connections to Prince Andrew. It proposed engaging experts, generating positive profiles, and emphasizing Epstein’s support for science and technology research to rebuild his reputation. Despite these efforts, Epstein faced additional charges related to child sex trafficking in 2019 before his death by suicide while in custody awaiting trial.
Subsequently, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson faced scrutiny for their continued correspondence with Epstein, contradicting their claims of cutting ties with him. Their involvement in the scandal led to consequences such as Andrew being stripped of his titles and Fergie losing charity affiliations. The fallout from their association with Epstein prompted the couple to vacate the Royal Lodge and seek alternative accommodations.
