NatWest and RBS to Close 46 Mobile Bank Branches

Published on

NatWest and Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) have revealed their intention to close 46 mobile bank branches. These mobile branches, housed in vans or trucks, are meant to offer banking services in various locations as an alternative to traditional brick-and-mortar branches.

Services provided by these mobile banks include basic banking tasks like depositing money and checks, as well as handling simple account inquiries. The closure of these mobile banks by NatWest and RBS is scheduled for January 2026. Details of the affected locations can be found below.

A representative from NatWest Group, the parent company of NatWest, RBS, and Ulster Bank, stated, “We are committed to maintaining a sustainable branch network and are proud to offer a cash-based mobile branch service, which is unique among UK banks, to cater to communities lacking easy access to banking services nationwide.”

The spokesperson added, “We regularly assess our network to ensure optimal customer coverage. While the number of service routes will remain the same, we will be eliminating a few stops where there is redundancy with a banking hub.”

In the event that your local bank branch has closed and you require in-person assistance, you can utilize any bank within the NatWest group for your everyday banking needs. For instance, NatWest clients can utilize RBS branches, and vice versa. Additionally, the Post Office remains an option for cash transactions, balance inquiries, and check deposits.
