Nicola Golen scored in the second minute of extra time, securing a 2-2 draw for Ottawa Rapid against AFC Toronto at TD Place on Sunday. Golen’s goal in the 92nd minute helped the Rapid, who are at the top of the league table, earn one point.
Melanie Forbes also contributed a goal for Ottawa (10-2-3) in the 13th minute. On the other side, Sarah Stratigakis and Shelina Zadorsky found the back of the net for third-ranked Toronto (7-4-4).
The match saw both teams reduced to 10 players in the 63rd minute following red cards shown to Choo Hyojoo of the Rapid and Cloey Uddenberg of AFC Toronto.
Earlier in the day, it was announced that the Nothern Super League final on November 14 would be hosted at Ottawa’s TD Place.
