“Joshua Ready for Showdown with Paul in Miami”

Published on

Anthony Joshua has successfully met the weight requirement for his upcoming bout against Jake Paul, ensuring he is ready for the fight well in advance. The former two-time heavyweight champion has been out of action since experiencing a devastating knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in September 2024, after which he took time off to recover from minor injuries sustained during the fight.

Following a successful elbow surgery, Joshua wasted no time getting back into training. The British boxer is anticipated to have an easy victory over the boxing novice Paul before a significant 2026 ahead. The highly anticipated professional heavyweight showdown between Joshua and Paul is scheduled for December 19 in Miami.

The match will consist of eight three-minute rounds, with both fighters using 10oz gloves. While Paul’s transition back to heavyweight seems comfortable, with his only previous appearance against Mike Tyson in November 2024, Joshua faced a challenge in meeting the weight limit set for the fight at under 245lb.

The heavyweight clash between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul will take place in Miami on December 19, with the fight available for streaming on Netflix. Fans can access the live stream for free with Sky’s £15 Essential TV bundle, the lowest price offered by the network for Sky TV.

Despite initial concerns that Joshua would need to shed 20lb before the fight, recent updates confirm that he is already close to the required weight. In a social media video, Joshua revealed his current weight at around 244.7Ib, demonstrating his readiness for the match. His promoter, Eddie Hearn, expressed confidence in Joshua’s preparation and physical condition for the upcoming fight.

A victory in this month’s bout will undoubtedly boost Joshua’s confidence as he eyes a significant 2026 in the boxing ring, potentially including a summer showdown with Tyson Fury. Saudi boxing chief Turki Alalshikh hinted at hosting major boxing events in London next year, highlighting Joshua’s expected participation in February and a significant fight in September.

The clash between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul in Miami on December 19, just before Christmas, is expected to draw attention from boxing fans worldwide. The fight is scheduled to take place around 11 pm local time, translating to 4 am in the UK. Fight times may vary depending on the undercard duration, with the event set to be broadcast live on Netflix.
