Singer and actress Selena Gomez is facing a lawsuit from investors who allege she engaged in fraudulent behavior by neglecting her responsibilities to develop and promote her mental health startup.
The investors put in nearly $1.2 million US ($1.67 million) into Wondermind Global, a venture launched in 2021 with the aim of enhancing users’ “mental fitness,” as per the lawsuit filed in federal court in Delaware.
According to the investors, they were assured that Gomez, a prominent figure in social media with over 500 million followers, would actively participate in the company’s growth as the head of marketing. However, they claim that Gomez and other company executives failed to deliver on commitments, such as the creation of a mobile application.
The lawsuit alleges that Gomez purportedly agreed to fulfill obligations but did not follow through. The plaintiffs argue that the company did not have a viable business plan and failed to meet basic responsibilities like timely payments to employees and vendors.
A spokesperson for Gomez has not responded to requests for comments. The lawsuit reveals that the investors were unaware of the company’s issues until they were exposed in an online news report in September 2025. The plaintiffs are seeking to recover their investments along with legal costs.
