White Lotus’ Aimee Lou Wood shares string of cryptic posts after Saturday Night Live dig

White Lotus star Aimee Lou Wood shared a string of cryptic messages online after a Saturday Night Live sketch. On the US show, there was a sketch about her teeth, which she has since described as “mean and unfunny”.

Actress Aimee has always been proud of her teeth but in a SNL skit, Sarah Sherman impersonated Aimee whilst using exaggerated prosthetic teeth. The sketch was of US President Donald Trump and his team spending time at the fictional White Lotus hotel.

Aimee’s character Chelsea, which was portrayed by Sarah, referenced the star’s teeth in the sketch, saying: “Fluoride? What’s that?” After the sketch, Aimee then admitted: “Whilst in honest mode – I did find the SNL thing mean and unfunny. I have big gap teeth, not bad teeth. The rest of the skit was punching up, and I/Chelsea was the only one punched down on.”

SNL since issued an apology to the actress. Alongside a selfie, she wrote: “I’ve had apologies from SNL.” Following the apology, the actress shared a string of cryptic posts online. Firstly, she shared a post from the White Lotus’ account, where she discussed the tragic season three finale. In the video, which was captioned ‘wellness may come with temporary aches’, and in it, she admitted the final episode made her “sob a lot” and she was “sat in an achy place” after it. She also starred a string of messages of support.

One message read: “People are jealous and don’t know where to put the energy, so it comes down to playground bullying, pointing at the one thing they themselves feel scared they couldn’t pull off if they possessed it.” Aimee also commented on a post by Reese Witherspoon’s company Hello Sunshine.

“Aimee’s speaking up about both avenues’ parallels to the bullying she faced in her past distracting from the performance she invested seven months of mental and physical work into — so let’s celebrate her incredible talent AND leave space for Aimee to speak her truth beyond the roles she plays on screen,” they wrote and they shared a number of quotes.

“There’s a full-circle thing about the thing that you’re bullied for is now the thing that everyone’s being like, ‘I love your teeth!’ But then it does get to the point where you’re like, “Can we stop f****ing talking about it?” Because then it actually ends up feeling a bit similar,” one wrote, and another added: “Accepting who I actually am, I need therapy, stability, consistency. Maybe I can’t do jobs that take me away from home for seven months. And maybe that’s OK.”

Aimee commented on the post, ‘I appreciate this so much,” as she reacted to the sweet supportive post.
