The mother of a teenage girl from Florida, who tragically lost her life recently, has come forward after the apprehension of two young suspects in connection with the incident.

Danika Troy, a 14-year-old, was found deceased in a wooded area near Pace, Florida, after her mother, Ashley Troy, reported her missing. A passerby discovered her body, which showed signs of burns and gunshot wounds. Gabriel Williams, 16, and Kimahri Blevins, 14, were arrested and charged with first-degree premeditated murder for allegedly luring her to the woods, shooting her, and setting her on fire.

Authorities are investigating the case, suspecting that the two teenagers planned the crime following a disagreement during Thanksgiving break. Allegedly, the altercation involved insults from Danika towards Williams and her blocking of Blevins on social media.

Despite the heart-wrenching loss, Troy’s mother, a devoted Baptist, expressed forgiveness towards the boys, referring to them as her daughter’s friends. She emphasized blaming the influence of evil rather than harboring hatred towards the boys for their actions.

While advocating for the full prosecution of the suspects, Troy’s mother shared her plans for a candlelit vigil in memory of her daughter at their family church, Avalon Baptist Church in Milton.

After the discovery of Danika’s body, investigations revealed that Blevins confessed to planning the murder to witnesses and later to police officers. Williams also admitted to his involvement, citing hurtful comments from Danika as a trigger for the crime.

Santa Rosa County Sheriff Bob Johnson mentioned discrepancies in the investigation details and confirmed that the trio were acquaintances. He highlighted that the motive provided by the suspects does not align with the forensic evidence gathered.

Both teenagers are currently in custody at the Santa Rosa Juvenile Detention Center without bail.
