Cricket icon Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff shared a shocking revelation about losing all his teeth in a car accident during a Top Gear filming in 2022. The incident, which caused post-traumatic stress disorder for Flintoff, was disclosed during his appearance at the Victoria Palace Theatre, where he reflected on pivotal moments in his life and career.
Flintoff briefly touched on the crash that left him fearing for his life, mentioning for the first time that he no longer has his original teeth. The 47-year-old sustained severe injuries, including a significant loss of his upper lip, when the Morgan Super 3 trike he was driving rolled over at Dunsfold Park Aerodrome.
In a documentary on Disney+, Flintoff recalled feeling like he was facing death as the car flipped over. Despite wishing at times that he had died in the accident, he clarified that he never contemplated suicide. Cricket played a crucial role in his recovery, with Flintoff finding solace in coaching the Northern Superchargers in The Hundred and the England Lions.
Flintoff’s wife, Rachael, credited cricket for saving him, providing a renewed sense of purpose. Following the 2022 crash, Top Gear was put on hold by the BBC in 2023, while Flintoff ventured into hosting TV shows like Freddie Flintoff’s Field of Dreams and a revamped version of Bullseye.
