CBC has secured a significant expansion in its coverage of Canadian curling through a new five-year broadcast agreement. This deal, announced by The Curling Group, will bring more playoff coverage of the Grand Slam of Curling and all Rock League games to CBC and Sportsnet platforms. The 2026-27 season will see over 300 hours of combined television coverage on both networks.

A key highlight for CBC is its involvement with the Rock League. The professional league, which debuted in April, will return to CBC in January 2027. All Rock League games will be broadcast on CBC television and CBC Gem, with select matches airing on Radio-Canada’s ICI TOU.TV and Sportsnet on Thursdays and Fridays. The league comprises six mixed-gender franchises featuring international curlers, with the upcoming season set to feature events on specific weekends in January and April, running from Thursday to Sunday.

Additionally, CBC will play a more significant role in the Grand Slam of Curling. Sportsnet remains the primary broadcaster for all five Grand Slam events starting in October. The tournament will feature three draws daily from Tuesday to Friday, with CBC and CBC Gem joining Sportsnet+ for Saturday’s playoff coverage. The championship finals on Sundays will be broadcasted by Sportsnet, while CBC will showcase select finals throughout the season. Morning round-robin draws and tiebreakers from Tuesday to Saturday will continue to be streamed on Rock Channel.

This new agreement strengthens CBC’s longstanding relationship with curling, enhancing its coverage of major Canadian curling events. Chris Wilson, CBC’s executive director of sports and Olympics, expressed excitement about sharing another season of Rock League with audiences nationwide. The Curling Group’s CEO and co-founder, Nic Sulsky, emphasized the significance of the agreements in expanding the national audience for both the Grand Slam and Rock League.

Canadian viewers can look forward to an enhanced viewing experience over the next five years, with increased opportunities to follow Grand Slam playoff weekends and the upcoming second season of Rock League on CBC.
