Maintaining the lead for almost 32 minutes, Canada extended their advantage to 30 points during the third quarter. Syla Swords and Delaney Gibb contributed 17 points each, with Jasmine Bascoe adding 15 points, eight assists, and four rebounds, propelling Canada into the final. Swords showcased exceptional accuracy, shooting 6-for-8 from the field and a perfect 5-for-5 from beyond the arc.
In the upcoming final on Sunday against host Mexico in Guadalajara, Canada will vie for the tournament title and a spot in the subsequent phase of Olympic qualification. Mexico earned their place in the final by defeating Brazil in the other semifinal match. Canada and Mexico had previously clashed in the group stage, with Canada prevailing 70-64, setting the stage for an anticipated rematch in the championship game. The ultimate winner of the tournament will secure a coveted spot in one of the FIBA Women’s Olympic Qualifying Tournaments scheduled for February 2028.
