Black Sheep, a coffee chain based in the UK, has unveiled its festive Christmas menu, and I had the opportunity to attend a wreath-making event to preview it. The menu, introduced on Wednesday, November 5, features a variety of robust flavors and both hot and cold treats.
As I sampled the new offerings, I discovered a particular favorite – the Mint White Chocolate Chip Matcha, especially the iced version. Described by Black Sheep as a blend of fresh mint and creamy white chocolate in a festive twist on a matcha classic, this drink is described as smooth, sweet, and slightly mischievous.
Although I’m not typically a fan of matcha, I found this version to be exceptionally enjoyable. Its sweetness balances well with the matcha’s bitterness, creating a harmonious flavor profile reminiscent of a Grasshopper cocktail – a mint-flavored after-dinner drink featuring crème de menthe, white crème de cacao, and cream.
Moving on, I also sampled the Gingerbread Latte, a drink that truly encapsulates the essence of Christmas. This classic beverage, available hot or iced, combines warming spices and gingerbread syrup with velvety espresso, creating a nostalgic winter indulgence that is further enhanced by a dollop of whipped cream.
Furthermore, the Fuji Apple, Ginger & Caramel Red Bull Infusion caught me by surprise with its unique and flavorful combination. This drink, inspired by toffee apples, blends juicy Fuji apple, fiery ginger, sweet caramel, and Red Bull for a festive and energizing treat perfect for the holiday season.
Additionally, I tried the Pigs in Blanket Ciabatta and the Brie & Cranberry Toastie, both offering familiar flavors but falling slightly short of expectations compared to the exceptional drinks on offer at Black Sheep.
While the sandwiches were decent, it’s the innovative and delightful drink selection that truly steals the show. Black Sheep Coffee’s Christmas Menu will be available at all UK locations starting November 5th.
