In London leading up to the Christmas season, Apple’s iPad has brought a festive display to Battersea Power Station. 24 vibrant designs, selected from a competition called “Your Tree on Battersea,” are now illuminating the iconic towers of the power station.
The chosen artworks, submitted by the public, are gracing two towering chimneys that overlook the River Thames after sunset. Varsha Simha, from Canterbury, expressed her excitement at being chosen, drawing inspiration from the cozy items seen at Christmas markets during the cold winter months.
Among the winners is 7-year-old Miah D.B, who shared her joy of creating her tree design on an iPad, driven by her love for drawing on the device and her emotional inspirations.
Renowned personalities like Kylie Minogue, Sir Stephen Fry, Maro Itoje, Oliver Jeffers, David Shrigley OBE, and Chawawa have also contributed drawings to accompany the winners’ creations.
This competition continues Apple’s tradition of celebrating holiday creativity, marking the first time the company has involved the public in such a creative initiative. Notably, back in 2023, artist David Hockney showcased “Bigger Christmas Trees on iPad Pro,” while last year, Aardman used an iPhone 16 Pro Max for a short animation.
Chawawa, reflecting on the significance of hosting Apple’s inaugural iPad Christmas tree competition, shared a personal connection to the event, highlighting the joy of engaging the nation in creating Christmas trees on iPads and showcasing them across London.
These captivating images will adorn Battersea Power Station until Christmas Eve, bringing holiday cheer to the city.
