Apple has had a bustling week with the official announcement of iOS 26. This upcoming operating system will introduce a sleek Liquid Glass design, enhancing the overall appearance of devices with a glossy and futuristic look. The new features include a revamped home screen with dynamic clock adjustments based on content and 3D wallpapers.
Liquid Glass also offers customization options for app icons and widgets, allowing for a seamless blend with the background. Additional enhancements in iOS 26 comprise improved messaging, instant language translation, and a fresh gaming experience on the iPhone. Notably, a new feature called Call Screening has been introduced to prevent unknown callers from disturbing users until their identity is confirmed.
Users can decide whether or not to accept calls after the caller’s identity is verified. This feature enables the blocking and unblocking of numbers for personalized call screening. With the increasing issue of unwanted calls, this innovation from Apple is highly valuable. iOS 26 also includes features like Hold Assist, which alerts users when a call center agent answers, and a spam-style folder for texts from unknown numbers.
Craig Federighi, Apple’s senior vice president of Software Engineering, praised iOS 26 for its new design and meaningful feature improvements that enhance user experiences. The update focuses on personalization and connectivity enhancements, along with integrated Apple Intelligence for smoother operations.
