NATO member countries have responded swiftly following reports of four Russian fighter jets approaching the western border with Poland. The MiG-31 planes prompted Poland and Germany to elevate their air defense readiness, as confirmed by NATO sources cited by German media outlet Bild am Sonntag.

A spokesperson from the German Air Force stated that there was activity in Russian airspace on Friday, leading to the deployment of air defense systems in Poland, including the activation of the Air Force’s two Patriot systems.

Additionally, the Police military reacted to Russian threats toward Ukraine by dispatching fighter jets to safeguard the airspace, particularly in regions facing potential risks, as reported by The Express.

Earlier in the month, Britain’s defense secretary, John Healey, expressed concerns after a Russian spy vessel was observed near UK waters. During a press briefing in Downing Street on November 19, Healey directly addressed Russia and President Putin, emphasizing that their actions were being closely monitored.

In response to Healey’s remarks, the Russian embassy dismissed the accusations as provocative, asserting that the activities of the Russian research vessel ‘Yantar’ in international waters were not detrimental to UK interests or security, labeling British suspicions as baseless.
