A tragic incident unfolded as a 30-year-old social media influencer passed away after embarking on an extreme fitness challenge of gaining and losing 55lbs rapidly. Dmitry Nuyanzin committed to an excessive daily calorie intake of 10,000, surpassing the NHS’s recommended 2,500 for men, to showcase his weight-loss regimen.
With a substantial following of over 43,000 on Instagram, the fitness coach aimed to prove the efficacy of his program by offering a reward for substantial weight loss by New Year’s Eve. By indulging in a diet rich in high-calorie foods like burgers, pizza, chips, pastries, and mayonnaise-coated dumplings, Dmitry managed to gain at least 13kg in just one month.
Sharing updates throughout the challenge, Dmitry showcased his meals laden with fats. Despite canceling training sessions due to feeling unwell and planning to see a doctor, Dmitry tragically passed away in his sleep due to heart failure. His sudden demise led to an outpouring of tributes, remembering him as a vibrant and positive individual.
Reflecting on the dangers of excess weight on heart health, the British Heart Foundation warns of potential risks such as atherosclerosis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. Dmitry, a graduate of Orenburg Olympic Reserve School and National Fitness University, was known for training elite members of Russian society and inspiring his online followers.
As the cause of Dmitry’s death remains undisclosed, his legacy as a fitness influencer and coach lives on.
