A new option for households seeking TV access without monthly fees has emerged. The Freely service, introduced in 2024, initially provided live channels through specific new TVs. Since then, more TV brands like Hisense, Toshiba, and Sharp have integrated Freely into their screens. Now, Manhattan’s technology team has launched the Aero 4K set-top box, allowing existing TVs to access over 60 live channels and on-demand content without a subscription.
The Aero 4K device not only provides free content but also offers features such as voice search, personalized recommendations, a comprehensive TV guide, and the ability to pause live programs. Additionally, users can access popular streaming apps like Disney+ and Netflix. Priced at £69.99, the Aero 4K has gained significant popularity.
Currys is the exclusive UK retailer of the Manhattan Aero 4K, which quickly sold out upon release. Interested buyers can sign up on Currys’ website for restock alerts. Other retailers like Amazon and John Lewis are expected to carry the device soon.
Once back in stock, the Aero 4K will compete with similar streaming devices like Virgin’s Stream box and Sky Stream, eliminating the need for traditional aerials or dishes by delivering content over the internet. Transitioning to streaming offers benefits such as simplified installations without requiring technician visits and more frequent software updates.
With Freely reporting over a million users, the trend towards streaming services continues to grow as more individuals shift away from traditional TV viewing methods.
