“Trump Set to Approve Epstein Files Release”

Published on

Donald Trump has a ten-day window to approve the bill mandating the disclosure of the Epstein files following its passage by Congress late yesterday. Initially resistant to the idea and actively urging House members to remove themselves from the petition for release, Trump shifted his stance earlier this week. He now supports the bill, which stipulates that the files must be made available in a searchable format within 30 days. Trump’s argument is that he is unconcerned about the release of the files since Epstein’s associates were predominantly Democrats.

In a recent statement, Trump affirmed his intention to sign the bill upon receiving it, emphasizing, “Our association with Epstein is nonexistent. It is the Democrats who are linked to him.” He continued, “Allow the Senate to review it. Let anyone examine it. However, refrain from excessive discussion because, truthfully… it is primarily a Democratic issue. Epstein’s circle consisted entirely of Democrats. It is a fabrication. The entire narrative is fabricated, and I do not wish to detract from the substantial achievements of the Republican Party in recent times.”

The implication is that Trump cannot possibly feature in the files due to his Republican affiliation. However, a crucial flaw exists in this assertion. Donald Trump maintained a friendship with Jeffrey Epstein from the late 1980s until approximately 2007 when he asserts he barred the infamous sex offender from his Mar-A-Lago club in Palm Beach, Florida. Furthermore, during most of this period, Trump was affiliated with the Democratic party.

During the period relevant to the Justice Department’s investigation and the Epstein files (2002-2005), Trump was both a friend of Epstein and a registered Democrat.
