Police were called to Bolton town center in response to disturbances involving around 60 individuals. Riot-trained Tactical Aid Unit officers and paramedics were spotted near the McDonald’s on Knowsley Street. Greater Manchester Police issued a dispersal order allowing them to order individuals suspected of causing trouble to leave or face arrest. The order, known as ‘section 34’, will be enforced until 2 am.
According to GMP, the action was prompted by reports of anti-social behavior and criminal activity involving a group in the Market Place area. Inspector Nick White emphasized the importance of public safety, stating that disruptive behavior will not be tolerated in Bolton. Increased police presence will be visible in the area to address these concerns.
In a separate incident, an easyJet flight traveling from Paris to Edinburgh had to declare an emergency upon landing. Flight EZY3242 arrived in Edinburgh after the pilot issued a 7700 code, indicating a general emergency. Paramedics were on standby to assist a passenger in need of urgent medical attention. EasyJet confirmed that passenger safety is their top priority, and their crew is trained to handle medical emergencies onboard.
