Most major TV and internet providers in the UK have recently raised prices for 2025, primarily affecting bills in April. Sky has now announced a new price increase, impacting users of the NOW broadband platform.
The price adjustments, set to take effect on July 4, were initially disclosed in May, alerting users to expect higher costs. Subscribers to the Brilliant Broadband, Fab Fibre, and Super Fibre plans under NOW will see a monthly increase of £3.
Acknowledging the potential dissatisfaction among customers, a NOW spokesperson mentioned, “We understand that price hikes are never well-received. However, to enhance our services and continue our investments, pricing adjustments are necessary.”
Customers were informed that they could leave the service without charges within a 31-day window following the announcement of the price hike. Users still within this timeframe can switch to another provider without early termination fees.
NOW emphasized that the increased prices are a reflection of their ongoing investments in service improvements, citing rising overall cost pressures such as wholesale expenses and service enhancements.
For NOW customers, it is advisable to review existing contracts. Additionally, exploring alternative service providers like BT, Virgin, and Sky, as well as emerging smaller networks in the UK, can provide opportunities for faster speeds at competitive prices.
For instance, Community Fibre is currently offering free broadband for a three-month period. To discover available Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in your area, utilize Ofcom’s postcode checker for potential savings and improved download speeds.
