A person in their thirties employed in the motorsport industry is facing accusations of sexually assaulting one of Michael Schumacher’s nurses. The incident reportedly took place at Schumacher’s residence in Gland, Switzerland, as detailed by Swiss newspaper 24heures.

The alleged assault occurred in 2019 but has recently surfaced, with the victim filing a criminal report over two years after the incident. A trial is expected to commence this week.

According to the rape charges, the individual assaulted the nurse, who was attending to Schumacher after his severe skiing accident in December 2013, in an upstairs bedroom following a night of heavy drinking.

It is alleged that the accused and the nurse encountered each other in the billiard room of the mansion located by Lake Geneva. The accused mentioned a previous encounter where they had kissed at a club in Geneva, but the nurse disputed any close relationship.

Notably, none of the Schumacher family members are implicated in the accusations, with the indictment clarifying their absence during the incident.

Michael Schumacher, a seven-time world champion, sustained a critical head injury in a skiing mishap over a decade ago. Since then, he has required constant care from a medical team residing in his home. Following a 250-day coma, Schumacher was transferred home for ongoing treatment.

His wife, Corinna, has maintained privacy regarding Schumacher’s care, providing updates through a Netflix documentary in 2021. She expressed missing him daily and highlighted the family’s efforts to support his recovery and ensure his comfort while preserving his privacy.

Schumacher’s illustrious career includes winning his first two world championship titles with Benetton in 1994 and 1995, followed by five consecutive titles with Ferrari from 2000 to 2004.
