Adam Boynton, Senior Security Strategy Manager EMEIA at Jamf, highlighted the severity of the patched issues in the August Android Security Bulletin. One particularly alarming vulnerability, CVE‑2025‑48530, allows remote code execution without user interaction, potentially granting hackers control over a device without the owner’s knowledge.

Additionally, the update addresses a vulnerability identified by Qualcomm that could be exploited for targeted attacks, posing a substantial threat. Qualcomm reported that certain vulnerabilities, including CVE-2025-21479, CVE-2025-21480, and CVE-2025-27038, may be under limited, targeted exploitation.

Although there is no confirmation of consumer impact or hacker attacks related to these issues, it is crucial for users not to overlook the latest update. The update rollout will begin with Pixel phones, followed by other manufacturers deploying their fixes in the upcoming weeks.
