A horse racing trainer in Dubbo, Australia, faced disqualification after verbally attacking a racing steward during an inspection. Garry Lunn, known for training numerous winners, including over 100 at the Dubbo racecourse, was found to have made inappropriate and insulting comments towards the steward, Xavier Dalton, during an audit inspection.

According to a RacingNSW inquiry, Lunn aggressively confronted Dalton, using offensive language and questioning the steward’s competence. The incident escalated when Lunn followed Dalton outside the premises, continuing the verbal abuse even after Dalton tried to leave.

Subsequently, Lunn was charged with obstructing Dalton from performing his duties and engaging in improper behavior towards the steward. Despite denying the charges, Lunn was found guilty and received a three-month disqualification for the first offense and a nine-month disqualification for the second offense, to be served concurrently from November 14, 2025, to August 14, 2026.
