The Toronto Raptors have announced that they will retire Kyle Lowry’s jersey number, No. 7, during a ceremony after their game against the Philadelphia 76ers on January 10. Lowry will be honored as the second player in Raptors history to have his number raised in the Scotiabank Arena, following Vince Carter.

After a 20-year career in the NBA, the 40-year-old guard retired in July by signing a symbolic one-day contract with Toronto. Lowry expressed his excitement for the upcoming jersey retirement, stating that Toronto has always been home to him, and seeing his No. 7 jersey hanging in the arena holds great significance.

Reflecting on his time with the team, Lowry acknowledged the special bond he shared with his teammates, the organization, the city, and the fans, culminating in their championship victory in 2019. As the franchise’s career leader in assists, steals, and three-pointers, Lowry’s contributions to the Raptors have been monumental.

The retirement ceremony will be a special moment for Lowry to share with his family, teammates, fans, and the entire nation of Canada. The event will celebrate his nine seasons with the Raptors and the historic achievements he accomplished during his time with the team.
