Renowned rock vocalist Sass Jordan, born in Birmingham, England, and raised in Montreal, has passed away at the age of 63. The news was confirmed by family spokesperson Eric Alper, stating that Jordan passed away on Friday surrounded by her loved ones.
Described as a remarkable force of nature and a radiant source of joy and light, Jordan’s cause of death has not been disclosed. Her musical journey began with her debut album, “Tell Somebody,” in 1988, which earned her the Juno Award for most promising female vocalist in 1989. Her subsequent album, “Racine,” released in 1992, featured hits like “Make You a Believer.”
A multiple-time nominee for the Juno Award for best female vocalist, Jordan also served as a judge on all six seasons of the reality TV show “Canadian Idol.” She collaborated with her husband Derek Sharp on her 2020 album, “Rebel Moon Blues,” and her 2022 release, “Bitches Blues,” while under contract with Stony Plain Records.
