Three security personnel at a downtown Winnipeg nightclub are facing assault charges following an incident that left a Winnipeg Sea Bears player with serious injuries earlier this month, according to police reports.

Teddy Allen was hospitalized after being attacked at a downtown club on August 3, as confirmed by the Canadian Elite Basketball League team. The three individuals, aged 35, 37, and 58, who were employed at the venue, were apprehended on Wednesday and charged with assault causing bodily harm. They have since been released on undertakings.

Although the specific nightclub was not disclosed by the authorities, it was mentioned to be located on Main Street, between Portage and William avenues. Allen has undergone medical evaluations, received a diagnosis, and is currently recuperating at home, as stated in a team-released written statement on Thursday.

Expressing his dismay, Allen stated that the assault was unwarranted and should not have occurred, emphasizing that such actions should not be inflicted on anyone. He further expressed his resilience, mentioning his determination to bounce back from adversities.
