The Montreal Roses made a significant decision to part ways with their head coach, Robert Rositoiu, following their elimination from the W Canadian Championship. The club’s sporting director, Marinette Pichon, expressed gratitude towards Rositoiu for his foundational work in establishing the professional women’s soccer team. The decision to dismiss Rositoiu was described as difficult but necessary to inject new energy into the team for the remainder of the season and future growth.

Currently positioned second in the Northern Super League (NSL) with 27 points, the Roses have 10 remaining matches in the regular season. Rositoiu, who took on the role of head coach in September 2024 in preparation for the team’s debut season in the NSL in 2025, will be replaced on an interim basis by Maryse Bard-Martel. Bard-Martel, the team’s former first assistant coach and head of goalkeeping, will lead the team in their upcoming match against AFC Toronto.

The Montreal Roses are focusing on selecting a permanent replacement for Rositoiu as they aim to continue their successful season in the NSL.
